Diamante, Ntekpere and Webster Earn GNAC Special Awards of The Year

PORTLAND, Ore. – Today. The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced the 2025 Indoor GNAC track & field special awards – Freshman Bautista Diamante won the Men's Freshman of the Year Award. Sophomore Emy Ntekpere won the Women's Field Athlete of the Year Award. Junior Isaiah Webster won the Men's Field Athlete of the Year Award.

QUOTING HEAD COACH JONATHAN HILL
"Isaiah had a breakout season in the triple jump and it's amazing to watch him grow in the sport.  He's always had the ability and the confidence to be elite, but he's putting together the work and becoming a student of the event.  He is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential and we both have hopes/expectations to continue his steep upward trajectory."

"Bautista is a real talent and has waited a year for this opportunity to compete in the NCAA.  We're all proud of the progress he's made and how he's helped elevate our men's sprint program.  Bauti is new to indoor track, so this season was all new to him.  We expect outdoor to be even better."

"Emy had a terrific year and competed at a really high level in many areas for us.  There truly is no limit to her potential as she begins to find herself in the sport.  She is a bright light of energy and she brings so much to our program in so many ways.  Emy epitomizes what it means to be a Wildcat.  Through adversity and uncertainty, she continues to elevate to new levels."

"I'm proud of each of these three for the hard work they've put in and the results they're seeing as a result."

After clinching the triple jump title and earning the National Championship, Ntekpere had an impressive 2025 season, highlighting her exceptional leaping skills and unwavering determination. She triumphed in both the high jump and triple jump at the 2025 GNAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in February.

Diamante had an outstanding debut season for the Crimson and Black, securing a spot at Nationals after setting a new CWU record in the men's 200 meters with a time of 21.18, ranking #11 on the NCAA DII list.

Webster claimed victory in both the men's long jump and triple jump at the GNAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, with leaps of 7.28 meters and 15.25 meters, respectively. He also set a new CWU record in the men's triple jump. Additionally, he earned First Team All-American honors in the men's triple jump, demonstrating his exceptional leaping talents.
