ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University men's basketball team (7-7, 1-2 GNAC) remains home for one more week as the Wildcats welcome Alaska Fairbanks (8-5, 3-1 GNAC) and Alaska Anchorage (11-4, 3-1 GNAC) as they look to continue their winning ways to start 2026.

PREVIOUSLY FOR THE 'CATS
Central earned a strong 75-63 home victory over Northwest Nazarene last Saturday. The Wildcats jumped out early, shooting well to take a 44-22 advantage at halftime, then held off a big second-half push from the Nighthawks to secure the win.
Jordan Clark led the way offensively with 22 points, adding four assists, while
Calvin Sisk was dominant in the paint, finishing with 18 points, a team-best eight rebounds, and a team-high seven blocks.
Bradley Swillie contributed across the board with 11 points and a team-leading five assists, while
Eli Williams chipped in eight points. In his on-court debut this season,
Xavier Kamalu-Vargas added four rebounds and four assists off the bench. The team overall had a strong defensive performance with five players, Clark, Swillie, Williams, and Kamalu-Vargas earning two steals apiece.
ABOUT THE NANOOKS
Alaska Fairbanks opened the season with a strong 8-5 overall record, while going 3-1 in conference play, highlighted by a perfect 6-0 start at home and a current two-game winning streak. The Nanooks dominated early home contests, including lopsided victories over Pacific Union College and West Coast Baptist College, while also securing key conference wins against Western Washington and Simon Fraser to begin the new year.
The Nanooks' production has been led by a balanced group of players, with Tyriq Luke leading the offense at 197 points for an average of 15.2 points per game, narrowly ahead of Mike Miller with 196 points. On the glass, Davis Crilly leads with 86 total rebounds, just edging Jalai O'Keith with 85 boards. Tariq Weiser has been an excellent playmaker with a team-leading 56 assists, while Luke ranks second with 34. Defensively, Mike Miller has performed well in timing, recording 31 steals so far, while Crilly guards the net with 12 blocks.
The Wildcats and Nanooks hit the court on Thursday, Jan. 8 following CWU women's basketball's game against Simon Fraser. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from Nicholson Arena.
ABOUT THE SEAWOLVES
Alaska Anchorage has enjoyed a good start to the season, posting an 11-4 overall record and a 3-1 mark in GNAC play while riding a four-game winning streak. The Seawolves have been dominant at home with a 10-1 record, highlighted by decisive wins over Evergreen State, Northwest University, West Coast Baptist, Simon Fraser, and Western Washington.
The Seawolves have featured balanced production across the lineup, led offensively by Akok Machar with 166 points, followed by Hasaan Herrington with 164. Sylas Williams has been the squad's most dominant rebounder, pacing the squad with 86 total rebounds, including 26 offensive boards. Playmaking duties have been anchored by Herrington, who leads with 63 assists while also ranking first in steals with 33. Defensively at the rim, Williams and Machar share the lead in blocked shots with 10 apiece.
The Wildcats take on the Seawolves on Saturday, Jan. 10 to close out their first home stand of the year. Tip-off is set for 7:15 p.m. following the conclusion of the Wildcat women's basketball game against Western Washington.
