LAST WEEKEND:

Central defended home court with a pair of wins, first surviving a 77-75 nail-biter against Montana State Billings before rolling to an 86-60 victory over Seattle Pacific. The MSUB match featured constant momentum swings and was decided by free throws from Eli Williams in the final second, while Saturday's game was a dominant performance from the 'Cats highlighted by strong shooting and transition scoring. Together, the wins pushed the Wildcats back to .500 in GNAC play and capped a strong two-night stretch at Nicholson Arena.

CWU leaned on balanced production, led by Jordan Clark's milestone weekend. Clark totaled 42 points across the two games and surpassed 1,000 career points during Saturday's win over the Falcons, adding another highlight to junior's remarkable season. Bradley Swillie added 15 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and a steal. Williams contributed key plays on top of his 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while Xavier Kamalu-Vargas and Calvin Sisk controlled the glass and interior defense with Kamalu-Vargas recording 13 boards and Sisk logging six rebounds and four blocks.

SCOUTING THE WOLVES:

Since falling to the 'Cats on Jan. 24, WOU responded by defeating Seattle Pacific in buzzer-beating fashion with Jadin Penigar hitting a jump shot with one second remaining in the game. The Wolves then dropped their next two games against Montana State Billings 74-84 and Saint Martin's 55-74. Western Oregon then found an answer with a strong win over Western Washington 74-62 but followed it up with a loss to Simon Fraser 62-79 to lead into this week with a 4-10 conference record.

The Wolves are led by Penigar with 415 total points for 19.8 per game, as well as 105 rebounds, 25 assists, 21 steals, and 10 blocks. Penigar has also gone 147-331 for 44.4 percent from the court. Braydon Olson is the second-leading scorer for WOU with 261 points with an average of 11.9 points per game, while logging 54 rebounds, 23 assists, and 19 steals. Top scorers from the Wolves also included Carson Frincke with 199 points, AB Gilchrist with 173, and Noah Ogoli with 160. Ogoli also leads in passing with 74 assists, while Gilchrist leads in takeaways with 27 and Peter-Kaci Gwananji leads the net defense with 17 blocks.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS:

After defeating Central on Jan. 22, Saint Martin's kept the momentum running two days later by beating Northwest Nazarene 79-63. The following week wasn't so fortunate for the Saints, as they saw their first conference loss of the season to Montana State Billings 71-77, and then fell to Seattle Pacific 72-76 two days later. Both matches saw SMU fall behind at the break to trail in the second half. The Saints responded the next week with a strong 74-55 win over Western Oregon, and then another win over Simon Fraser 81-73 the next week. SMU couldn't keep the momentum rolling into the next game, dropping an 81-90 contest to Western Washington to bring the Saints into the week at 11-3 in GNAC play.

Kaden Hansen leads the Saints, offensively, with 415 total points for 19.8 point per game, while also leading from beyond the arc, going 61-161 for 37.9 percent. Diego Trejo-Delgado is SMU second-leading scorer with 346 points for 15.7 per game. He tied his career high 31 points against the Wildcats earlier this season. Trejo-Delgado has also recorded 146 rebounds, 47 assists, 21 blocks, and 15 steals, proving to be a threat on each end of the court. Top scorers from the Saints also include Dae-Kwon Watson with 257 point, Patrick Kilfoil with 208, and Pablo Navarro with 188 total points. Watson also leads in takeaways with 39 steals, while Trejo-Delgado's 21 blocks leads the team. Omar Ege Peksari leads in passing with 70 assists, while Anthony Simo leads on the glass 154 rebounds, including 65 offensive boards.
