TRACY, Calif. – The Central Washington University Softball Team fell in their weekend finale at the NorCal Crossover Sunday morning.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

SCORING:
- Marissa Farias put the Pioneers on the board first in the top of the second when she sacrificed herself to the left fielder to score Reagan Hallett and make it 1-0 CSUEB.
- Jasmyn Morales added on in the top of the third with a double to center field to score Jeslyn Cuellar and make it 2-0 Pioneers.
- The 'Cats struck in the bottom of the third after Jadyn Holdren singled to center field to score Izzy Vargas followed by a Kasi Thomas triple to right field to score Brooke Baker and McKayla Cable to give the 'Cats the 3-2 lead.
- The Pioneers responded in the top of the fourth when Farias singled down the right field line to score Jenna Porto followed by Cuellar sacrificing herself to the left fielder to score Mia Garcia and Morales earning a bases loaded walk to score Cynthia Carrillo to make it a 5-3 Cal State East Bay lead.
- Melise Brown made it a one run game once again in the bottom of the fourth when she reached due to a fielding error by the second baseman which allowed Adriana Rodriguez to score and make it 5-4 CSUEB.
- The Pioneers added one more in the top of the fifth when Jennavee Campos sacrificed herself to score Brynn Gentry to make it a 6-4 victory for Cal State East Bay.
HITTING:
- The Wildcats saw seven different players earn a hit with Holdren, Cable, Baker, Thomas, Rodriguez, Vargas, and Hallie Sehlin all earning one hit.
- Thomas had two RBI while Holdren added one.
- Sehlin had the only walk on the day for the 'Cats.
- The Pioneers were led by Morales and Isabel Mercade who had two hits each while Porto, Farias, Carrillo, and Sarissa Block all adding one.
- Morales and Farias had two RBI while Cuellar and Campos had one.
- Cuellar, Morlaes, Hallett, and Rylee Gomez all drew one walk.
PITCHING:
- Brooke Baker pitched the first three innings allowing two hits, two runs, two walks, and two strikeouts against 13 batters.
- Ellie Gilbert pitched the next 0.2 innings allowing four hits, three runs, and two walks against eight batters.
- Alex Flohr pitched the next 1.1 innings allowing one hit, one run that was not earned, and no walks against six batters.
- Reese Anderson pitched the final two innings allowing one hit, no runs, no walks, and two strikeouts against eight batters.
- Jaidyn Gamble pitched the first 2.2 innings allowing six hits, three runs, and one walk against 14 batters.
- Marissa Quintero pitched the final 4.1 innings allowing one hit, one run that wasn't earned, and two strikeouts against 16 batters.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Cal State East Bay leads the all-time series 7-5.
- The Pioneers are on a four-game win-streak.
UP NEXT:
- The Wildcats will head back to Ellensburg for a nonconference series against the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks.
- The 'Cats and 'Hawks will square off on Friday and Saturday March 6 and 7 with first pitch both days set for noon with game two to follow approximately a half an hour after the conclusion of game one.
