Central Washington University: (2014): In his first year with Central, Beckman played in 31 games with 14 starts...He was a versitile defensive player for the Cats playing positions in the outfield, infield, and spent some time behind the plate...Beckman showed off his speed on the bases by being perfect in stolen base attempts...
 
Edmonds Community College: Beckman came to CWU after two seasons at Edmonds Community College (WA) playing for head coach, and for Wildcat baseball player, Scott Kelley. As a freshman catcher for the Tritons, Beckman batted .281 with one homerun, five doubles, and seven runs batted in (RBI). Returning for his sophomore season, Beckman was counted on to play a more significant role, appearing in 28 games, while hitting .244 with four homeruns and 12 RBI’s. Following the season, Beckman was honored by the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) with the gold glove for the north region at catcher.
 
High School: Beckman graduated from Hazen High School in Renton, Washington. A three year letter winner for the highlanders, Beckman earned second team All-Seamount honors as a junior and first team honors as a senior in 2011. Following his senior year, Beckman was recognized by the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) as a member of the second team 3A All-State team.
