Biography

Josh Potter joined the Wildcat baseball program in the fall of 2013 after transferring from Campbellsville University (KY). As a junior for the Tigers, Potter started 41 of the 43 games he appeared in, batting .260 with five doubles and 15 runs batted in (RBI).
 
Potter played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Pierce College (WA). As a freshman, Potter earned second team All-West Region honors in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) after batting .316 with nine doubles, one triple, one homerun, and 18 RBI.  Returning as a sophomore, Potter appeared in 44 games, leading the team in batting average at .363. He also compiled eight doubles, one triple, one homerun, 38 RBI, and four stolen bases for the NWAACC Baseball Tournament Champion Raiders. Following the season, Potter was first team All-West Region, West Region Most Valuable Player, and the West Region gold glove winner at first base, while also receiving first team All-NWAACC honors. He was also a member of the All-Pacific Association Division second team for the all of the west coast.
 
Potter graduated from Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines, WA. A two-year varsity player for the Rams, Potter batted .500 with seven homeruns in his senior year of 2010.
 
Potter was born in Burien, Washington to parents Randy Potter and Debi Nelson. He has one brother, Jeff, and one sister, Nicholette. Potter is majoring in psychology at CWU and plans to be a counselor following graduation.
