Biography
CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY: (2014) In 2014, Firethorne was named GNAC Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 7) and was named to the All-GNAC First Team. She ranks seventh in school histroy in kills per set (3.20) and recorded a career high in kills (22) versus WWU (Oct. 2). Firethorne ranks in the top 20 in eight different statistical categories in CWU history.
(2013) A key contributor in her sophomore campaign, Firethorne led the team with 3.09 kills-per-set in the 24 matches she played in. She had 11 matches with double-digit kills, including a career-high 20 kills against Western Oregon in an early-season match. She added 37 total blocks and was named to the Academic All-GNAC squad with a 3.91 grade-point-average. She also added All-GNAC honorable mention to her accolades.
(2012) Firethorne played in 11 contests during the 2012 season, with two starts. She accumulated 32 kills and 18 total blocks as a true freshman. The highlight to her season was a season-high eight kills in a start at Walla Walla on Oct. 30.
(2011) Signed a National Letter of Intent with the Wildcats in November.
SOUTH WHIDBEY HIGH SCHOOL: She graduated from South Whidbey High School in Langley, Wash., in 2012. Firethorne was a four-year letter winner for the Falcons and head coach Mandy Jones earning first-team all-Cascade Conference in both her junior and senior years. Added second-team all-conference honors as a sophomore. She holds school records for most career kills and kills in a match (28).
PERSONAL: Firethorne was born in Guerneville, California. She plans to major in elementary education.
