Jim Fisher joined the Central Washington University baseball staff as Assistant Coach for Catching in 2026.
Fisher has spent more than 40 years coaching student-athletes at the high school and collegiate levels. He coached baseball, softball, football, soccer, tennis, and cross country during successful tenures at Arroyo Grande High School and Nipomo High School in California.
At Arroyo Grande High School, Fisher coached baseball for 15 years, softball for 10 years, football for five years, and soccer for two years. He later spent six years coaching baseball, nine years coaching softball, two years coaching football, five years coaching tennis, three years coaching cross country, and two years coaching soccer at Nipomo High School.
In addition to his coaching duties, Fisher served as Athletic Director at Nipomo High School for four years, overseeing department operations and supporting the school's athletic programs.
Prior to joining Central Washington, Fisher spent three years at Wenatchee Valley College, where he worked with catchers and assisted with player development.
As a player, Fisher competed at Richland High School before continuing his baseball career at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo from 1972-75.
Fisher and his wife, Jody, have two children, Josh and Jory. He joined the Wildcat baseball program in 2026.
