Johnson begins his fifth season with the Wildcats in 2023. Johnson returned to his alma matter in the fall of 2019 after playing baseball for the Mainz Athletics of the German Bundesliga and a two-year coaching stint at Seattle University.Â
He spent two years under Desi Storey as a player from 2012-14. Johnson finished his CWU career with a .313 batting average and 33 runs batted in over 73 games. Prior to playing at Central Washington University, Johnson spent two years with Clark College in Vancouver, Washington.
He spent just two seasons on the coaching staff at Seattle University. In 2018, the Redhawks posted a team average of .281 en route to winning 34 games over the campaign. Infielder Jacob Prater earned 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 honors for his combined performances on the field and in the classroom in 2019. Curtis Perrin and Sean Sutton both earned Academic All-District honors in 2018.
Johnson is a native of Olympia, Washington and currently resides in Kittitas. Â
