Ryan Rothing joined the Wildcat baseball program in the fall of 2013.
 
Prior to CWU, Rothing spent one season at Blue Mountain Community College (OR) in 2013. Although the Timberwolves struggled, Rothing led the team in innings with 78 and compiled a 4.38 earned run average (ERA), 34 strikeouts, and two complete games. Additionally, Rothing was a member of the All-Academic team.
 
Rothing spent his freshman year at Bemidji State University (MT) where he pitched 15 innings for the Beavers. He compiled an 11.15 ERA with eight strikeouts.
 
Rothing graduated from Belgrade High School in Belgrade, Montana. Although they do not play high school baseball in Montana, Rothing played American Legion baseball for the Belgrade Bandits.
 
Rothing was born in Boseman, Montana to parents Dick and Ellie Rothing. He has one brother, Jake. Rothing is majoring in food services management at CWU.
