Biography

Sam Williams joined the Wildcats baseball program in the fall of 2012. Williams was a reserve catcher for the Wildcats in 2013 helping lead the team to a 30 win season and a runner up finish in the inaugural Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Baseball Tournament. Williams appeared in 13 games, with a .286 batting average, one double, and seven runs batted in (RBI).
 
Prior to CWU, Williams played two seasons at Lower Columbia College (WA). As a freshman in 2011, Williams hit .200 with 6 RBI for the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) runner-up Red Devils. Returning for his sophomore season, Williams hit .344 with 13 doubles, one homerun, and 25 RBI. Following the season, Williams was named to the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) All-West Region first team and second team All-NWAACC.
 
Williams graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle, Washington. He played both football and baseball for the Braves, while garnering honorable mention (2008), second team (2009), and first team (2010) All-Metro League honors in baseball.
 
Williams was born in Seattle, Washington to parents Steve and Monica Williams. He has two sisters, Ashley and Monica. Williams is majoring in interdisciplinary social science at CWU.
