Stuart Fewel joined the Wildcat baseball program in the fall of 2012. As a junior in 2013 at CWU, Fewel was a key member of the Wildcat pitching rotation; helping lead the team to a 30 win season and a runner up finish in the inaugural Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Baseball Tournament. Fewel lead the team in starts (13) and innings (74.2) while compiling a 4.82 earned run average (ERA). Following the season, he earned second team All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors.
 
Prior to CWU, Fewel spent two seasons at Lower Columbia College (WA) where he pitched for current CWU pitching coach Rob Hippi. As a freshman in 2011, Fewel starred on the mound, throwing 68 innings with a 1.19 ERA, 48 strikeouts, and an 8-1 record for the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) runner-up Red Devils. Following the year, Fewel earned first team All-West Region and first team All-NWAACC honors. Returning for his sophomore season, Fewel threw 79 innings and compiled a 2.06 ERA and 46 strikeouts en route to second team All-West Region honors and a 31 win season for the Red Devils.
 
Fewel spent his freshman season at Oregon State Universty, where he redshirted for the Beavers.
 
Fewel graduated from Wilson High School in Portland, Oregon. Fewel compiled a great number of prep accolades including first team All-Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) (2008-09) and first team All-State 6A (2008-09) and PIL Pitcher of the Year (2009). However, his greatest prep feat was in 2009 when he threw back-to-back perfect games for the Trojans.
 
Fewel was born in Portland, Oregon to parents Richard and Julie Fewel. He has one sister, Marissa. Fewel is majoring in exercise science at CWU.
