Leon La Deaux joined the Central Washington University Football program in August 2019 as an offensive assistant. He works with the inside wide receivers as well as a recruiting coordinator.
Before joining the Wildcats, La Deaux was a member of the University of Montana Western football coaching staff in the spring of 2019 as a Wide Receiver Coach.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, La Deaux spent the 2018 season at the University of North Dakota (FCS-1AA) where he was the Offensive Quality Control/Assistant Offensive Line Coach. During the 2018 season, UND finished with a 6-5 record. The team picked up wins over No. 4 ranked Sam Houston State University, snapping their 22 game home game winning streak and against the No. 22-ranked University of Montana.
The 2017 season saw La Deaux move overseas where he worked as Offensive Coordinator for the Marburg Mercenaries a professional team that competes in the German Football League. Offensively, the Mercenaries finished third in passing yards per game, his quarterback led the league in total yards per game and they finished 2017 as the No. 13-ranked team in all of Europe.
La Deaux began his coaching career at the University of Jamestown (NAIA) where he was a Graduate Assistant/Wide Receiver Coach from 2015-16. While at Jamestown, La Deaux helped senior wide receiver Mike Sena earn First-Team All-Conference honors as he finished the season with 66 receptions for 967 yards seven touchdowns.
As a student-athlete, La Deaux started four seasons as a wide receiver at the NCAA Division II level, two seasons at Central Washington and two at Minot State, accounting for 139 receptions with 1,692 Receiving Yards, 2,558 all purpose yards, and 11 total touchdowns.
La Deaux holds a Master of Arts Degree in Leadership from Jamestown in May 2017 and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Minot State in May 2015. He currently resides in Ellensburg.
