Patrick Belony

Patrick Belony begins his second season as the Defensive Line Coach at CWU in 2025.  
 

In 2024 Belony arrives to Ellensburg as the Defensive Line Coach for the Wildcats. In his first year with the Wildcats the CWU Defensive Line led the way for the Wildcats and were the #2 ranked Total Defense in DII in 2024. Under Belony guidance Mikiao Edward earned Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year, and Chase Loidhamer and Daniel Matagi was named Second Team All-LSC, while Issac Clark and Josiah Cochran were named LSC Honorable Mention.  

Prior to joining the Wildcats Belony spends one season at Washington state Under Head Coach Jake Dickert as a defensive graduate assistant/ Quality Control in 2023. Belony Assisted Pete Kaligas in coaching (DT) David Gusta who was a Pac 12 Honorable Mention in 2023. 
  

Before Moving to Pullman, WA in 2022-2023 at Fresno State, Belony remained on staff with Head Coach Jeff Tedford. During the 2022 season Belony helped the Bulldogs to a 10-4 season earning the Bulldogs a Mountain West Championship bid and defeating Boise State in the 2022 Mountain West Championship game 28-16. The Bulldogs played against Washington State in the 2022 LA Bowl and defeated the Cougars 29-6. Belony helped assist with (DE) David Perales who recorded 11.5 Sacks that same season. 

In 2021-2022 Belony spent two seasons at his Alma Mater Fresno State. His first season at Fresno State was under current Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer as a Graduate Assistant. In 2021 Belony helped Bulldogs to a 10-3 Season and defeating UTEP in the 2021 New Mexico Bowl.

Belony played collegiately at Fresno State from 2015-18, helping the Bulldogs to two bowl games and a conference title. The 2018 Mountain West Championship season was his finest, playing in all 14 games, including the conference championship game and the Las Vegas Bowl, and totaled 18 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries. The 2018 Bulldogs finished the season with a 12-2 record, earning the most wins in a single season in Fresno State history. Belony was also a part of the Bulldogs’ 2017 Hawai’i Bowl victory over Houston. In 2017, Fresno State became the second program in FBS history to go from a double-digit loss season to a double-digit win season. 
 Prior to his time at Fresno State, Belony spent one season (2014) at Antelope Valley College. 

  
Belony, a native of North Miami Beach, Florida, earned his undergraduate degree from Fresno State in communication. Also earned his master’s degree in education, Curriculum & Instruction. 
 

Belony and his Wife Paige Walker Resides in Ellensburg.
