Patrick Belony begins his second season as the Defensive Line Coach at Central Washington University (CWU) in 2025.
Belony arrived in Ellensburg in 2024 to take over the Wildcats’ defensive line. In his first season, the CWU defensive front played a key role in helping the Wildcats finish the year ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II Total Defense. Under Belony’s guidance, Mikiao Edward earned Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year honors, while Chase Loidhamer and Daniel Matagi were named Second Team All-LSC. Additionally, Isaac Clark and Josiah Cochran received LSC Honorable Mention recognition.
Prior to joining CWU, Belony spent the 2023 season at Washington State University under Head Coach Jake Dickert as a Defensive Graduate Assistant/Quality Control coach. While with the Cougars, he assisted Defensive Tackles Coach Pete Kaligis in coaching David Gusta, who earned Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors in 2023.
Before his time in Pullman, Belony spent the 2022 season at Fresno State, remaining on staff under Head Coach Jeff Tedford. That year, the Bulldogs finished with a 10–4 record, winning the Mountain West Championship with a 28–16 victory over Boise State and defeating Washington State 29–6 in the 2022 LA Bowl. Belony helped assist with standout defensive end David Perales, who recorded 11.5 sacks that season.
From 2021–2022, Belony served as a Graduate Assistant at his alma mater, Fresno State. In his first season under then–Head Coach Kalen DeBoer (now at Alabama), he helped the Bulldogs to a 10–3 record and a victory over UTEP in the 2021 New Mexico Bowl.
