Biography

High School: Graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 2012. Played four seasons of football for head coach Tom Tri and the Vikings. Earned numerous all-star accolades for his work on the gridiron. Completed 21 of 26 passes for 397 yards and four touchdowns in his top high school effort.  Also a standout prep baseball player. High school teammate of CWU tight end Brady Pahukoa and linebacker Korey Young.
 
College: Signed a National Letter of Intent with CWU in February 2012... Redshirted in 2012... Started nine of the 10 games in which he played in 2013... Became the CWU starter in game No. 3... Ended the year with the third best mark in the GNAC in both touchdown passes and pass efficiency (132.0)... Also second on the team rushing during the season... In 2014, was 215-363 on passing attempts and tossed 23 touchdowns... Also threw for 250 yards or more six times. 
 
Misc: Age 20 throughout the 2014 season. Born in Everett. Business major. Parents are Lee and Tammy Nelson. Has a younger sister, Lindsey, 18. Drafted by Boston in the 26th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft but did not sign with the Red Sox.
