Central Washington University Athletics

2022-23:  Hector started in 25 of his 27 games played last season... He averaged 11.7 ppg, 65.4% from the charity stripe, 6.1 boards per game, led the team with 31 blocks... Earned GNAC All-Conference honorable mention.

2020-21: Samaad competed at Sacramento State University. He played in 17 games with the Hornets, averaging 4.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and shooting 52-percent from the floor. Hector recorded 28 offensive rebounds and averaged a team-best one rebound every 3.4 minutes of action. He averaged 11 points and 11.6 rebounds per 40 minutes. On three occasions for the Hornets Hector compiled a double figure scoring effort, including a double-double against Fresno Pacific.

2020: Named 2020 NWAC West Region MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. Broke school record for All time Rebounds and rebounds in a season with 764 and 432 respectively. 1,000 point scorer in hsi time at at Lower Columbia College.

2019: Hector was named to the presidents list twice. Additionally, he earned 2nd Team All-NWAC Honors.

Before CWU: Hector went to Lower Columbia College from 2018-2020. In 2020 he attended Sacramento State University.

High School: Dakota High School 2014-16. Skyview from 2016-2018. Hector graduated in 2018.

Why CWU: "I chose CWU because in a time of complete darkness, the players and coaches were able to make me smile and feel welcome and at home."

Personal: Hector is pursuing a Masters in Law and Justice, while also majoring in Sociology.
