CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY: Devin Matthews joined the Wildcat basketball program in the fall of 2014 following two years with Pierce College in Lakewood, Wash.
PIERCE COLLEGE (2012-2014): Matthews, who took his team to the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges title game, led the way for the Raiders as the all-time assist and wins leader. He averaged 7.5 assists per game and was named first-team all-conference as a sophomore.
PERSONAL: Matthews was born in Las Vegas to his mother, Toni Matthews. He plans to major in sociology at CWU. Outside of the basketball court, he enjoys spending his time at Wing Central, eating rodeo honey barbecue wings. On his days off from school, you might find Devin sitting on the couch playing NBA 2K, as his favorite basketball team the Los Angeles Lakers. Before a big game, Devin’s favorite song to listen to is Lil Wayne featuring Drake “Grindin’.”
