Biography

Eric Tinnell joined the Wildcat baseball program in the fall of 2012. Due to Great Northwest Athletic Conference transfer rules, he was forced to redshirt the 2013 season after transferring from Western Oregon University.
 
Tinnell spent his first two collegiate seasons at Lower Columbia College (WA). As a freshman, Tinnell appeared in 23 games for the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) Champion Red Devils. Returning as a sophomore, Tinnell hit .250 with five doubles and 20 runs batted in. He was also named to the NWAACC All-Academic Team, and helped the Red Devils to a runner-up finish in the NWAACC baseball championships in 2011.
 
Tinnell graduated from Ephrata High School in Ephrata, Washington. He compiled an impressive 10 varsity letters for the Tigers in baseball, basketball, and football. Tinnell was named to the Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) first team in baseball three times and the second team in football twice. As a junior, Tinnell helped the Ephrata basketball team to WIAA 2A State Basketball Tournament Championship.
 
Tinnell was born in Moses Lake, Washington to parents and CWU alumni, Sonny and Leslie Tinnell. He has one sister, Laura. Tinnell is majoring in finance at CWU and intends to be a financial advisor upon graduation from CWU.
