Biography
BASKETBALL LIFE: JB Pillard III joined the Wildcat Basketball Program in the fall of 2012 after transferring from fellow Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) rival Northwest Nazarene University (NNU). Due to GNAC transfer rules, Pillard was forced to redshirt the 2012-13 season in Ellensburg.
Pillard started his college basketball career at Olympic Community College, playing in 22 games overall. He averaged four points per game, with an individual high score of 15 points. Pillard earned a 53 percent field goal percentage during his time at Olympic as well.
At Whatcom Community College, Pillard appeared in 29 games with a field goal percentage of 59. During his junior year at WCC, he totaled 405 points, averaging 13 points per game. His personal high score was 29 points, topping any other athlete on the team. Pillard also earned a spot on the NWAACC Second Team All-North Region during the 2010-2011 basketball season.
At NNU in 2011-12, Pillard led the Crusaders in both scoring (15.2 points per game) and rebounding (6.42 per game), which both ranked tenth in the GNAC overall. Additionally, Pillard compiled 5 double-doubles as an effective low post presence.
Pillard graduated from Juanita High School in Kirkland, Washington in 2008.
PERSONAL LIFE: JB was born in Seattle, Washington to parents JB Jr. and Leesa Pillard. He has two brothers, Jorden and Darid, and one sister, Katie. Pillard is majoring in Law and Justice and intends to pursue a career as a lawyer after graduating from CWU.
