CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY: During the 2013-14 season, Roppo played all 26 games and started 24 of them. The guard averaged 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. Roppo was a reliable contributor on both ends of the floor. In the 2012-13 campaign, Roppo played 24 games in which he had three starts. He averaged 2.5 points per game and 0.9 rebounds per game. Roppo joined the Wildcat basketball program during the 2011-12 season, redshirting his freshman year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Roppo graduated in 2011 from Monroe High School in Monroe, Wash. He played basketball all four years, but also played football for three. Roppo holds the single game football passing record for the Bearcats with 531 yards.
PERSONAL LIFE: Roppo was born in Seattle to his parents, Joe and Carley Roppo. He is majoring in information technology and administrative management. When Joey is off the court, he enjoys playing tennis. Tennis was a hobby he recently picked up from playing with his dad and he now enjoys going to play with friends. Aside from sports, Joey says he is also a world-class Mario Kart player. Prior to a big game, Joey likes to put on Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” to get ready to win.
