High School: Graduated from Skyline High School in Sammamish in 2013. Four-year letterman in football for the Spartans and head coach, and CWU alumnus, Mat Taylor. Earned first team all-league honors as a kicker and punter during his final two seasons. Was a second team all-league punter as a sophomore. Was invited to the Washington all-state game. Set school records for longest field goal (49 yards), most field goals in a season and career, and most extra points. Also lettered in soccer as a junior.
 
College: Signed a National Letter of Intent with the Wildcats in February 2013... Took over as team kicker in second game of 2013... As a true freshman, led the GNAC in point after touchdown percentage (96.9) as he connected on 31-32 PATs... Also, nailed eight of 13 field goal attempts, which was fourth best in the conference... Long was 44 yarder, with :01 second left, for a 27-24 home win over Dixie State on Homecoming... In 2014, connected on all but one PAT attempt... Was 8-15 on FG attempts with a season long of 45 yards. 
 
Misc.: Age 20 throughout the 2014 season. Born in Seattle. Parents are Bob and Tracie McDonald. Has three older siblings: sisters Veronica, 35, and Morgan, 22, and brother Dan, 24.
