SEATTLE (Nov. 21) -- Junior
Brittany Duerr (Bellevue/Newport HS) scored a career-high 18 points, but Central Washington fell to 0-2 on the women's basketball season with its 70-58 loss to Colorado Christian at the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic on the Seattle Pacific University campus on Saturday afternoon.
For the second straight game, the Wildcats scored the opening basket before surrendering a scoring run by their opponents. Starting the second half with a seven-point deficit, Central spent most of the final 20 minutes trailing by 10 or more points as an 11-1 Colorado Christian to open the half gave the Cougars their largest lead of the game at 17 points with 15:32 remaining. The Wildcats responded with a 7-0 run to cut it to 10.
Duerr carried the Wildcat offense by making 7 of 12 shots for her 18 points. She hit 3 of 7 three-point attempts while adding four rebounds, three assists, and two steals without a turnover. Three others were next in the scoring column with seven points apiece, including senior

Colorado Christian had three double-digit scorers including Juanise Cornell, who had game-highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Brittany Long also scored 19 for the Cougars, while Bre McBeth added 11.
