QUICK NOTES
WILDCATS RETURN BULK OF SCORING FROM 2009: Players who accounted for 28 of Central Washington's 33 goals last season return, and a very experienced group is listed among the Wildcats' projected starters as they begin the 24th women's soccer season in school history on Saturday against Chico State. Team scoring leader Kaycie Hutchins (Port Orchard, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) had five goals and eight assists last season, while junior Serena Tomaso (Enumclaw, Wash.) and sophomore Carson McKole (Oak Harbor, Wash.) were also five-goal scorers in 2009.

NEW FACE IN GOAL: There is only one face in the projected starting lineup who is new to the Wildcat program in 2010, and that is true freshman Kori Butterfield (Duvall, Wash./Cedarcrest HS), who is penciled in as the starting goalkeeper. She has the task of replacing four-year starter and school record-setter Amber Easterbrook between the posts.

2010 CAPTAINS: Three players were selected as team captains by their peers for the 2010 season. Serving in that capacity for the year are seniors Hutchins and Ellie Eckroth (Auburn, Wash./Auburn Mountainview HS), as well as junior defender Hillary Franks (Yakima, Wash./West Valley HS).

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE: The Wildcats wrap up their two-match California road trip on Monday as they visit San Francisco State for a noon kickoff at Cox Stadium in San Francisco. Central will then play three more road matches before its home opener on Sept. 18 against Montana State Billings.
