ELLENSBURG (Dec. 17) -- Sophomore JASMINE PARKER (Spokane/Mead HS) had 15 points and a career-high 19 rebounds, and senior AMBER MOSER (Willamina, Ore./Sheridan HS) added a game-high 21 points, but the Central Washington University women's basketball team was unable to complete a sweep of its two-game series with Hawai'i Pacific University in an 85-77 loss to the Sea Warriors on Tuesday night at Nicholson Pavilion.

The Wildcats, who suffered their first home loss in four starts this year, will take a 5-5 overall record into the 2014 calendar year, while Hawai'i Pacific improved to 5-2 on the season.

Parker, who also posted a double-double in Monday night's win over HPU, posted the third-best single-game rebounding effort in the Wildcats' 16-year era as a member of the NCAA Division II. She added four blocked shots and scored 11 of her points at the free throw line, where she was 11 of 14.

Moser posted her second 20-point game of the season, making 9 of 14 shots. She also pulled down seven rebounds including four on the offensive end. Senior ALLY SCHMITT (Snohomish) broke double digits in assists for the second straight night, totaling 11 and adding 10 rebounds, but scored just five points.

"Jasmine, Amber, and Erika (Locker) all had huge games because they slowed things down in the post," explained CWU head coach Shawn Nelson. "When they play fast, they have a tendency to get themselves into trouble, but they were able to score effectively when they had the ball down low. We also did a good job getting them the basketball."

Junior ERIKA LOCKER (Ferndale) came off the bench to score nine points, including 6 of 6 at the free throw line, and junior MOLLIE KRAMER (Colton) also scored nine in a reserve role. Starter COURTNEY JOHNSON (Kent/Kentwood HS) also scored in double figures with 10.

CWU had a 52-43 edge in rebounding, but the Wildcats shot just 34.3 percent from the floor overall and were just 4 of 20 from three-point range. They went to the free throw line 42 times -- their most foul shot attempts in a game since Jan. 30, 1997 -- but they made just 27 and shot 64.3 percent.

"We ran our offense really well tonight," Nelson said. "We were aggressive offensively and we got to the foul line quite a bit, but we didn't convert as much as we needed to while we were there. If we're more efficient (at the line), we probably win the game."

Four Hawai'i Pacific players scored in double figures, led by Morganne Comstock with 18 points and seven rebounds. Laken McClelland came off the bench to add 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while starter Skye Savini also had 17 points for the Sea Warriors.

CWU will return to Great Northwest Athletic Conference play for the remainder of the season, beginning with a Jan. 2 game against the Alaska Nanooks at Nicholson Pavilion.
