Box Score ELLENSBURG (Jan. 18) -- Central Washington University sophomore
JASMINE PARKER (Mead HS) scored a team-high 16 points, but the Wildcats lost to Seattle Pacific University 73-65 Saturday off in Nicholson Pavilion.
The Wildcats fall to 6-10 on the season, and 1-7 in the GNAC. With the win SPU improves to 11-4, 4-3 in GNAC.
The Wildcats took a 34-33 lead going into the half.Â
JESSICA VANDYKE (Chester, MT) and
COURTNEY JOHNSON (Kentwood HS) who had 11 and seven points respectively led the Wildcat offensive charge.  Central Washington made 13 of 33 shots in the half and forced the visiting Falcons to turn the ball over 12 times.
The Falcons immediately took a 37-34 lead in the second-half on a layup by Katie Benson and two free throws by Suzanna Ohlsen. The Wildcats kept pace with the Falcons until the 10:11 mark in the second-half where the visitors built a 54-47 lead. The Wildcats then went on a 11-2 run to eventually take a 58-56 lead.
Seattle Pacific would go on a run of itself taking a 65-60 lead with just 2:07 remaining in the contest. Central got to within two points, but clutch free throw shooting down the stretch lead the Falcons to the final 73-65 advantage.
Accompanying Parker as double-figure scorers were Johnson and VanDyke with 14 point each. Central Washington shot 36.5 percent from the field (23 of 63), while the Falcons shot a respectable 43.3 percent (26 of 60).
Katie Benson led the Falcons with a game-high 23 points on 10 of 16 shooting
Central Washington will next play in exactly one week when they host Northwest Nazarene at 5:15 p.m. in Nicholson Pavilion.
