Box Score SEATTLE, Wash. (Feb. 13) The Central Washington University women's basketball team made the trek over Snoqualmie pass to play Seattle Pacific Thursday evening and came away with a 68-47 defeat to the hands of the Falcons to extend its losing streak to eight games.
The Wildcats fall to 6-17 on the season and 1-13 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play while the Falcons improve to 15-6, 8-5 in GNAC.
Central Washington entered halftime trailing the Falcons 27-19. The Wildcats' only lead came as
JASMINE PARKER scored on the opening possession on an assist from
ALLY SCHMITT. The Wildcats trailed by eight for the majority of the half.
Seattle Pacific quickly turned its lead over the Wildcats to 14 to start the second-half. The Wildcats were unable to get much closer as the host Falcons led by 20 points on a number of occasions, ending with the final 68-47 advantage.
Central Washington struggled to score points as they made just 14 of their 40 shot attempts (35 percent) and was just 15 of 28 form the free throw line (53.6 percent).
Junior
COURTNEY JOHNSON (Kentwood) was the only Wildcat to score in double figures with 12 points on 3 of 6 shooting. All of her made field goals came from behind the arc where she was 3 of 5.
JASMINE PARKER (Mead HS) was also efficient from the field making all four of her attempts, scoring seven points and hauling down seven rebounds.Â
Seattle Pacific was had a better night shooting making 28 field goals on 63 attempts. The Falcons got a big chunk of their scoring from the post where they scored 28 points in the paint. Forward Katie Benson led all scorers with 20 points and eight rebounds for SPU.
The Wildcats next travel to Montana State University Billings to take on the Yellowjackets at 4:15 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 15.
