Box Score ELLENSBURG, WA - Central Washington University's men's basketball program ended the season on a winning note, defeating Montana State University-Billings 91-88 on Senior Night at Nicholson Pavilion.

CWU wraps up its season with a 12-14 record, including 8-10 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.

The Wildcats went to their big men early, only to watch 6-9 KEVIN DAVIS (Todd Beamer HS) and 6-10 JEFF BUDINICH (Kentlake HS) shoot 3-pointers to open an early 6-2 advantage.

MSUB would soon after take control of the lead, extending the cushion to five points (13-8) with 13:14 to play in the first half. But CWU would storm back, as McLaughlin hit two straight shots for five points after Budinich sank a free throw for the 14-13 lead. JALEN PEAKE (West Valley-Yakima HS) added two more from the charity stripe to make it 16-13 with 11:25 left in the half.

The Yellowjackets would once again reclaim the lead – one of eight lead changes in the game – and went into halftime up by one 37-36. However, Budinich and McLaughlin both scored in the final seconds of the first half to give a little indication of what momentum CWU would bring to the second half.

Central Washington – which shot just 36.4 percent from the field in the first half – poured on the offense in the second stanza, scoring 55 points while making 57.1 percent of its shots to dictate the flow of the game. After tying the game at 45 apiece with 17:54 to play, Davis then helped CWU grabbed its first lead of the second half with a dunk and 47-45 advantage at the 14:28 mark. MSUB wouldn't go away and kept it to within one to four points until taking possession of the game with a 61-60 score with 8:37 to play.

The lead was short-lived at CWU's JORDAN RUSSELL hit three free throws to make it 63-61 in favor of the 'Cats and Central Washington cruised for the rest of the game, extending its lead to 11 with 2:37 to go while putting on a highlight-reel of dunks from multiple players.

McLaughlin scored 33 points (including hitting 18 of 20 free throws) to lead all scorers. Davis had 14 points, 11 rebounds, five blocked shots and three steals. JB Pillard (Juanita HS) rounded up the double-digit scorers with 13 points.

The game marked the end of the collegiate careers for four Wildcats – McLaughlin, Davis, Pillard and Budinich.
