Box Score Burnaby, BC (Sept. 24) – The Central Washington University women's soccer team will continue to search for its first Great Northwest Athletic Conference win after a hard-fought, 0-1 loss to Simon Fraser University Thursday evening.
The loss moves the Wildcats to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the GNAC as the Clan jump to 3-0-2 and 2-0 in conference play.
"Both team played a solid first half," Head coach
Michael Farrand said." It was a good battle all night."
The Wildcats were stumped by the Clan in the first half as the home team outshot CWU 12-2 in the opening frame.

Amanda White turned in four saves in the first half and recorded nine on the night.
The 0-0 score was broken in the 66
th minute when the Clan turned the Wildcats over at midfield and launched a counter attack. Forward Olivia Aguiar streaked down the left wing and played a dangerous ball into the box. White saved a point-blank chance only to have it ricochet to another attacker who took advantage and gave the Clan a 1-0 lead.
Keilin Farrand and
Cassie Ripley each had opportunities late in the match to no avail. Farrand ripped a shot that sailed passed the far post and Ripley's late chance also failed to find the box as it sailed wide left.
The Wildcats will return home to battle Northwest Nazarene University, Oct. 1
st on the CWU Soccer Field.
"We have to get back on track and get focused this next week," Farrand said. "NNU will be a tough matchup, they beat SPU tonight. This is a great conference and every game is going to be a war."
