WILSONVILLE, Ore. (Feb. 21) – The Central Washington University baseball team recorded its first two victories of the season in a doubleheader against Corban University with scores of 4-1 and 6-4. Central is now 2-3 on the season, while Corban falls to 2-6.
Justin Adam's three-run double in the third inning opened the scoring for the Wildcats.
Darren Honeysett opened the inning with a double down the left field line and moved to third on a bunt single by
Ryan Atkinson.
Conor Plaisance then drew a walk to load the bases. Two batters later Adams roped his double to clear the bases and pick up three runs batted in.
Atkinson added a run an inning later with a ground out that scored
Christopher Dalto.
Jake Levin (1-0) went 6.1 innings on the mound for Central, earning his first win of the campaign. He allowed just one run, on four hits, and sat down three Corban hitters on strikes.
Connor Jones went 1.1 innings of scoreless relief and recorded a hold.
Ryan Archibald closed the door for his first save of the season.
Both Honeysett and Atkinson notched two hits each in the first game of the doubleheader.
In the back end of the doubleheader a four-run third inning gave the Wildcats their first lead after Corban posted a three-run lead over the first two innings. Honeysett drove in the first run with a double down the left field line, scoring Dalto.

Randy Fuller singled to center, scoring
Jonathan Dailey and Atkinson.
Fuller finished 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in, while Honeysett recorded three hits, scored once, and drove one run in.
In the fourth inning the Wildcats added to their 4-3 lead on a single by Atkinson that drove home Dalto.
Dalto had a pair of hits and scored twice in the second game.
Reid Martinez later tripled home Atkinson, giving the Wildcats a 6-3 lead.
Connor Lau's three innings of one-run relief helped guide the Wildcats to victory. Lau allowed just two hits, one run, and tallied four strikeouts.
Tanner Braun recorded a two-inning save.
The Wildcats are back in action this coming week with a series against San Francisco based Academy of Art University on Friday (Feb. 26) and Saturday (Feb. 27).
