ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University women's volleyball team downed the Concordia University (Ore.) Cavaliers in five sets (25-21, 20-25, 25-16, 19-25, 15-12) Saturday night at Nicholson Pavilion.
Â
"Tonight's match was a game of momentum," CWU head coach
Mario Andaya explained. "We just happened to be on our game for those last three or four points. We were having a lot of trouble with their outside hitters and they were using our block to their advantage. We need to engage in competition a little bit better. It seems like we were a little irritated that they were extending rallies and scoring points on us. We needed to get our poise back, and I thought we did that at the end."
Â
CWU extended its streak of victories to five and moves to 15-5 on the season and 10-2 in GNAC play, while Concordia dropped to 9-10 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
