PORTLAND, Ore. (Oct. 26) – Mackenzie Nolte became the Wildcats' all-time scoring leader with her 72
nd minute goal, but the Central Washington University women's soccer team fell to Concordia University, 6-1, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match.
Nolte gathered a cross from
Whitney Lowe and won a 1-on-1 battle with the Cavaliers' keeper. She passes Judy Koenig for sole possession of the career goals record. Nolte previously became the Wildcats' all-time points leader after her goal against Simon Fraser earlier this month.
"It's hard to be super excited with the outcome tonight, but it is exciting to finish my career this way," Nolte said following the game. "Judy [Koenig] set the bar really high for me and I could not have done it without the players I've played with. My teammates have made me look much better than I probably was, but it is nice to have the record under my belt. It's an honor to have the milestone and record."
The Wildcats are now 1-12-3 overall and 0-9-2 in GNAC play. The Cavaliers move to 13-2-1 and 10-0-1 in conference matches.
"
Madeline Fletcher had some great saves for us," CWU Head Coach
Michael Farrand said. 'We continue to play below average defense at critical times, we need to be better. We have one more game to go forward with and hopefully we come out with the win. Mac did a great job on a split ball from Whit. We are proud of what she has done for us throughout her career."
The Cavaliers gained an advantage on the scoreboard in the 17
th minute. Sydney Van Steenberge gathered a cross from Gabrielle Ewing and found the back of the Wildcats' net.
They tallied again in the 28
th minute. A penalty was awarded to Concordia following a foul in the box and Ana Delgadillo converted, giving the Cavaliers breathing room at 2-0.
Ewing added a third goal in the 46

The 68
