Soccer Travels to Monmouth for Regular Season Finale

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University women's soccer team travels to Western Oregon University for the final match of the 2019 regular season.

"I think streaks are always important," CWU Head Coach Michael Farrand said.  "We are on a two-game winning streak, first one for the year.  Winning three is important, then we'll worry about four.  Getting another win to finish year the year with a solid record and getting us forward, to finish playing well is important."

The Wolves clinched a spot in the GNAC Championships and currently sit in third place, with a 6-3-2 conference record, and 20 points.  In their last five games, the Wolves have posted a record of 3-1-1.  The only loss in that period came in a double overtime loss to Seattle Pacific, 2-1.
 
Western Oregon has scored 26 goals and allowed just 17 during the 2019 campaign.  Alyssa Tomasini leads the Wolves in both goals and assists with seven in each category.  Selene Konyn has registered five goals and four assists, while Isabelle Creighton has notched four goals and four assists.  Western Oregon has six multi-goal scorers and have recorded 24 assists on 26 goals. 
 
Alex Qualls has spent every game in goal for the Wolves, save for one 45-minute period where Cassidy Flammang came on as a substitute.  In 1,566 minutes, Qualls has made 48 saves and recorded six clean sheets.  She holds a goals against average of 0.98 and has faced 163 shots.
 
The Wolves are nearly perfect at home with a 5-1-1 record.  Their only home loss came against Western Washington University, ranked No. 15 at the time.  They then played to a 0-0 draw against Northwest Nazarene in Monmouth two games later.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats clinched a GNAC Championship berth following a 3-0 win over Northwest Nazarene.  Freshman striker Teanna Lathum scored twice and Madison Bradley added a third marker.  Junior goalkeeper Emily Thomson made six saves on the afternoon to earn her fifth clean sheet of the year. 
 
CWU v WOU HISTORY
Central and Western Oregon have met 32 times since 2002.  The Wolves hold a 14-10-8 advantage over the Wildcats.  Central Washington won the last meeting between the two sides on October 25, 2018.  Emily Russell scored the contest's lone goal in 81st minute to lift the Crimson and Black over the Wolves in Monmouth.  Prior to Russell's game-winner, the last time Central travelled to Monmouth was in 2016.  The Wildcats captured a 3-1 victory on October 9, 2016 with a pair of goals from Keilin Farrand and another from Mackenzie Nolte.
