Wildcats Set for First Look at The Podium

ELLENSBURG, Wash.—Central Washington continues its indoor track & field season this weekend when the Wildcats join 20 other teams for the Spokane Invitational at The Podium, Saturday in Spokane.

Saturday's meet will be close to a full-squad event for the Wildcats, as only the distance runners are being kept home. The meet is also Central's first look at the new world-class facility at The Podium, future home of both the GNAC Indoor Championships and host site for the 2022 USTAF Indoor Championships in February.

Central will make three more visits to The Podium before the indoor season concludes.

QUOTING HEAD COACH KEVIN ADKISSON
Being able to have this December meet is always a lot of fun. This track group have been working their tails off since the start of school, so we love to give them the opportunity to provide a competitive meet in December. This is a great payoff to the quarter. This is a great competitive opportunity to remind our kids what competition is all about. They'll have an opportunity to knock off the rust and get an idea of what they're ready to do.

We've known about The Podium for more than two years so we're very excited and interested to see what this is all about. I think it's going to be a great venue for years to come.
