Wildcats Shine, Honor Seven Seniors at the Wildcat Invitational

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University Track & Field Team celebrated their seven seniors with some outstanding performances in the CWU Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.

RESULTS
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
Phenom freshman Colton Magruder earned a new personal best in the 100m with a time of 10.43 to win the event. Boogy Brown added a win in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.33. Josh Boast earned the men's hurdles sweep victory taking home the crown in the 400m hurdles with a time of 51.93 as Elise Hopper made it a CWU sweep for the 400m hurdles, winning the women's race with a time of 59.87, both times accounting for new personal bests for both athletes. Meggie Kilcup earned the victory for CWU in the 800m with a time of 2:15.94 while the 'Cats earned the meet sweep in the 1,500m with Kellen McInelly winning the men's race with a time of 4:05.42 and Lillian Neff running a new personal best with a time of 4:52.08 to win the women's race.
 
Hannah Pidduck took home the women's 5,000m crown with a time of 18:13.10 while Luke Hurd tacked on the gold in the 10,000m race with a time of 31:51.80. Dan Close and Maliyah Gordon helped the 'Cats sweep the discus throws with Close throwing for 45.41m in the men's and Gordon throwing for 40.88m in the women's. Cal'von Baker took home the high jump crown with a jump of 1.96m. Bailey Board added a first place to her resume in the javelin throw, throwing for 38.03m. Drew Klein had a huge day in the pole vault earning the title with a vault of 4.84m. Brady Holland and Kamila Salanoa helped the 'Cats earn the shot put sweep with Holland throwing for 15.67m in the men's and Salanoa throwing for 12.63m in the women's. Azariah Miller earned the triple jump victory with a jump of 11.86m. 
 
All three of the 'Cats relay teams garnered victories as the two 4x100m relays consisting of Josh Boast, Colton Magruder, Trevion Walker, and Chase Perez won the men's race with a time of 41.15 and the team of Donna Marie Harris, Zoe Gonzales, Elise Hopper, and Layla Fields won the women's race with a time of 46.02. The Women's 4x400m relay team won their race with a team consisting of Julie Castillegjo, Harris, Carley Huber, and Hopper finishing with a time of 3:50.89. 
 
Hopper and Nielsen finished second and third in the 100m with times of 11.71 and 11.81, respectfully. Ellie DeGroot and Bella Connell added second and third place finishes in the 100m hurdles with times of 14.18 and 14.81 while Klein and Ian Calhoon tacked on second and third place finishes in the 110m hurdles with times of 14.44 and 14.67. DeGroot and Huber finished second and third in the 400m hurdles with times of 1:00.99 and 1:03.24 while Dawn Hulstedt and Sylvie Gephart added second and third place finishes in the 800m with times of 2:18.24 and 2:29.06 respectfully.
 
Trevion Walker finished third in the 200m with a time of 21.79. Perez had a great outing in the men's 400m with a time of 50.32 which was good enough for second place while Harris and Castillejo added second and third place finishes in the women's 400m with times of 57.71 and 58.87. Brown finished second in the 400m hurdles with a new personal best time of 55.91. Weston Breen tacked on a personal best in the 1,500m with a time of 4:08.85. Katie Manly finished third in the 1,500m with a time of 5:03.15 and added a second-place finish in the 5,000m with a time of 18:55.40. Jessica Henry finished second in the 10,000m with a time of 46.57.69. 
 
Wes Kriete threw 45.21m in the men's discus which landed him second on the day while Maddy Brooks and Kamia Tootoosis-Didier tacked on second and third place finishes in the women's discus with throws of 38.88m and 35.02m. Caleb Reed and Holland finished second and third in the men's hammer throws with throws of 47.81m and 47.05m. Gordon added a silver in the women's hammer throw with a throw of 44.18m. Klein tacked on a silver men's long jump performance with a jump of 6.79m. Joy Ayodeji led the 'Cats with a third place finish in the women's long jump, jumping 5.24m. Charles Pieper finished third the men's pole vault with a vault of 4.06m while Cariann Bryant added a third place finish on the women's side with a vault of 3.19m. Kriete and Reed followed Holland in the shot put in second and third with throws of 15.17m and 14.71m, respectfully. Felicity Taula and Mackenzie Schulz finished second and third in the women's shot put with throws of 12.50m and 11.48m. Tehya Moore added a second place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 11.67m. 
 
Lexi Titchenal earned a new personal best in the 1,500m with a time of 5:10.52. 
 
UP NEXT:
 
The Wildcats will head down to Walnut, Calif. to the Hilmer Lodge Stadium to participate at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays from Wednesday, April 15 through Saturday, April 18.
