ELLENSBURG, Wash.—Central Washington women's basketball standout
Samantha Bowman has garnered her third
Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award after her record-breaking performance in last Saturday's 75-63 overtime win at Concordia Irvine.
Bowman, a 6-3 junior from Zillah, Wash., shattered her own program record with 29 rebounds against the Eagles, breaking the mark of 23 she set earlier this season versus Stanislaus State. The 29 rebounds also tied a GNAC record.

Bowman's efforts on the glass last Saturday not only broke the school record and tied the conference mark, it also represents the highest single-game rebounding total at all levels of NCAA Basketball for the 2021-22 season – men's or women's.
Bowman recorded her seventh double-double of the season against Concordia, adding 23 points to her record-setting rebounds figure. She also finished with 3 assists, 3 blocked shots and 2 steals as the Wildcats rallied for the overtime win.
Bowman currently leads Division II in rebounds per game (16.6), while ranking fourth in blocked shots per game (3.38), eighth in total blocked shots (27), and tied for 25
th in points per game (19.1).
Bowman is the only Division II player in the country to rank in the Top 25 in points per game, rebounds per game and blocked shots per game.
The Wildcats (6-4) conclude their SoCal swing this afternoon when the visit Cal State Los Angeles at 1 p.m. central returns home for their final non-conference game of the season when the Wildcats host Whitworth, 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 30 at Nicholson Pavilion.
