CHENEY, Wash.—Central Washington's McCall Dechenne finished third in the pentathlon and
Logan Easley was sixth in the heptathlon on the final day of the Eastern Washington Candy Cane Multis.
On her way to a third-place effort, Dechenne took top honors in the 800m (2:26.03) and 60m hurdles (9.12). Easley, meanwhile, took the top spot in the 60m hurdles (8.93).
"We had a good day today," CWU assistant coach
Brittany Aanstad said. "It was great to sweep the hurdles. We're looking forward to even better marks in the future."
In addition to the efforts of both Dechenne and Easley, the Wildcats also saw solid performances from Sarah Sewell and
Chris Hines.
Sewell, a freshman competing in her first collegiate event, finished seventh overall in the pentathlon. Her day included a second-place finish in the 800m (2:26.25), just getting edged out by Dechenne.
Hines finished 10
th overall in the heptathlon.
The Wildcats continue their indoor season next weekend when they participate in the Spoken Invitational at The Podium, Saturday, Dec. 11.
