NEW ORLEANS – The USTFCCCA announced the all-region performers for the 2026 outdoor season on Wednesday with 13 members of the Central Washington University Track & Field Team receiving 22 West Region honors with 14 coming as individuals and eight coming as parts of a relay team.
The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top three relay teams. NCAA Division II Track & Field is broken up into eight regions: Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast, and West.
QUOTING CWU HEAD TRACK & FIELD COACH JONATHAN HILL:
"Some absolute legends on this list of awards. We are led in many ways by
Elise Hopper. Her recognition for being best on the West Coast in SIX events is a testament to her dedication and ability. She is one of the all-time greats here and regionally.
Ellie DeGroot has really rebounded well from an injury and placed three times on the list. She's talented and well-rounded, ready to compete for NCAA Championships in her top form.
Carley Huber is also a legend here. A born leader, she is represented twice on the list for the 4x4 and Heptathlon. Maliyah is well deserving and is headed to the NCAA Championships as well to keep adding to her trophy case. Tehya is so deserving as well having won the GNAC Championship at home last week. I'm proud of her and the work she put in to get to this point and win these honors. Donna Marie, Zoe, Ashlyn, and Layla are all critical relay legs looking to make waves at the NCAA Championships. Relays are a skill and we pride ourselves on being strong in these areas.
Our men have a really strong training group in the hurdles and combined events. A large part of that is the competitive nature between Drew, Josh, and Boogy. Those three push the whole group to be their best and none would be where they are without the others. Colton being named to another West Region Team is a huge accomplishment for a freshman who started his year running on the gridiron this summer."
