Women's Rugby Host the Lindenwood Lions

ELLENSBURG, WA.—The Wildcat women host the dominant Lindenwood Lions in a match to maintain perfection.

GAME INFORMATION

Saturday, March 20th

12:00 PM

vs Lindenwood University

Tomlinson Stadium

Ellensburg, WA

QUOTABLE

"This is a massive weekend for our team and especially our seniors, who we will be honoring on the day. Lindenwood has been the dominant force in women's collegiate rugby for the last few years and we know the challenge that they present. They're physical, they're skilled, and they will punish any and all mistakes. So, we have to be ruthless at the basics, dominate set-piece, and our defense must be relentless for the whole match. We're a little beat up from the last few weeks and unfortunately picked up some injuries to key players, but we are confident in our group and the way we have prepared. We're a young and eager squad that relishes these colossal battles, and we're excited to see how we stack up against the best in the nation." Said CWU Head Coach Trevor Richards.

SCOUTING THE LIONS

The Lions have only played two games this season, both wins against Life University. The Lions won both matches in dominant fashion, 39-17 and 51-0. Both wins were the first wins the Lions have earned in fifteens against Life University. The 'Cats will have to be wary of Caring De Freitas and Demi Allen as they are leading the Lions offensive push.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE 'CATS

In the 'Cats last outing they defeated the Brigham Young Cougars on the road in Utah. Another strong win propelled the 'Cats to 3-0 this season, defeating the Cougars twice.

The 'Cats have been dominant on the pitch so far, winning by scores of 43-13, 130-0, and 26-8. The offense is no joke and the physicality behind the ball can put a stop to any push.

The offense will be looking to Freshman Tessa Hann, who over the last three games has earned herself six tries on the year. Hann is closely followed up by Freshman partner Sammy Stern who earned herself back-to-back hat tricks in the first two games of the season.

Kai Brandt-Templeton is a threat from the kicking tee for the 'Cats. Hitting 18/21 of her conversions this year, she can be counted on to tack on extra points.

COVID DISCLAIMER
