ELLENSBURG, WA.—The Wildcats fall to the Lindenwood Lions 67-12 on senior day.
QUOTABLE
"Today was obviously not how we wanted to send our seniors off. Full credit to Lindenwood, they are the number one team in the nation and for good reason, but we did not execute our game plan on either side of the ball. While we had a handful of good individual performances, especially out of players like
Zonaye Tupuola, we gave up some soft tries on defense and our attack was unusually disorganized, not a good combination for winning matches. At the end of the day, everyone needs to get hit in the mouth at some point and this was an important wake up call for our team. Next week we get the opportunity to redeem ourselves against an excellent program in Life University, but we have plenty of work to do before then." Said CWU Head Coach
Trevor Richards.
SENIOR DAY
Three seniors for the 'Cats played in their final home game today at Tomlinson Stadium. Spencer Boldlt, the scrum half from Wilcox, Saskatchewan in Canada, and Athol Murray College of Notre Dame.
Jherish Moananu, center, from Carson California and West Torrance High school. The final senior is fullback
Mikayla Roberts from Long Beach California and Los Alamitos High school.
"Spencer has been a phenomenal student-athlete. Leading from the front with her academics, tutoring, mentorship, skillful play, and relentless drive. Spencer has been integral part in the growth of this program and the elevation of our standards." Said CWU Head Coach
Trevor Richards. "Jherish is going to be missed without question. Her bruising play complimented by soft touches on the ball reflects Jherish's direct yet warm, giving, and loving personality. A genuine pleasure to coach, a mentor to many teammates, and a real one indeed! Mikayla, our fearless captain, has been immense both on the field but also in the classroom. Driving standards with her no-nonsense approach, Mikayla has come into her own and we couldn't be prouder of the student-athlete, teammate and leader she has become."
