Wildcats Cruise Past Western Oregon

ELLENSBURG, Wash.--Analia Vasquez had 10 kills to lead Central Washington to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-12) sweep of Western Oregon, Friday at Nicholson Pavilion.

Playing at home for the first time in 17 months, the Wildcats (1-2) earned their first victory of the shortened spring season with relative ease. After edging the Wolves (0-1) in the first set, CWU dominated the next two, hitting .385 and .286, respectively.

The Wildcats used almost their entire roster as 15 players saw playing time. Ten players recorded kills, although Vazquez was the only to reach double figures. Alyssa Smith and Marianna Payne each had five kills as CWU hit .245 as a team.

Hannah Stires led the Wildcats with 17 digs, while Sydney Remsberg had 16 assists.

The Wildcats return to action at 10 a.m., Sunday when they host Alaska Anchorage in a doubleheader at Nicholson Pavilion.
