NAMPA, Ida.—The Central Washington University Baseball team dropped game one of the best of three series against the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks for the GNAC conference title.

Dillon Larsen took the mound for the Wildcats to start the series. Both teams got off to a slow start until the Nighthawks swiped two runs in the bottom of the second with a two-run homerun by John Gonzalez.
The Wildcats were unable to answer the Nighthawks score until GNAC Freshman of the year
Austin Ohland led off the fourth inning with a solo long ball to put the Wildcats within one. In the bottom of the inning an error by the Wildcats allowed the Nighthawks to score another and re-extend their lead, 3-1.
The Wildcats bounced right back again in the fifth.
Adam Fahsel reached on a walk and advanced to third on a double from
Zach Berryman.
Michael Copeland was able to make a productive out with a sacrifice fly to center field to score Fahsel, The Wildcats still trailed 2-3.
A pair of miscues and walks by the Wildcats allowed the Nighthawks to open it up in the sixth. The Nighthawks tacked on a few insurance runs and extended their lead out 6-2.
A four pack of hits from the Nighthawks tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the eighth.
Tyler McClain led off the final inning for the Wildcats with a double.
Trevor Tripoli reached on an error just behind him, but the Wildcats were unable to drive them in. The Wildcats fell to the Nighthawks, 8-2.
