Wildcats Head West for UW Invitational

ELLENSBURG, Wash.—Central Washington track & field turns its attention westward this weekend as the Wildcats head to Seattle for the UW Invitational, Friday and Saturday at Dempsey Indoor.
 
A squad of 16 CWU athletes will represent the Wildcats across two days. Most of Central's competitors will participate on Friday, with a smattering of athletes competing on Saturday.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS
The Wildcats enjoyed a strong performance at last week's Lauren McClusky Memorial Open at Idaho, earning a pair of individual victories and nine total Top 3 finishes.
 
Trevor Allen took top honors in the mile run, Erica Cabanos won the triple jump, and Juliette Williams tied the school record in the 60-meter dash.
 
Other standout performances included Aiden Wise finishing second in the 60m hurdles and helping guide the 4x400 meter relay team to a second-place finish. On the women's side, Makenna Hansen (200m), Meagan Smallbeck (weight throw) and the 4x400 meter relay team all recorded second-place results of their own.
 
Cabanos and Williams earned GNAC Athlete of the Week honors for women's field and track, respectively.
 
ABOUT THE UW INVITATIONAL
One of the largest overall meets on the west coast this winter, the UW Invitational features full or partial quads from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah, Washington State, Boise State, BYU, Gonzaga, Northern Arizona, Portland, San Francisco, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, Utah State, Seattle U., SPU, Western Washington, Western Oregon, Central Washington, and George Fox.
