Portland, Ore. –12 Central Washington Cross Country athletes were recognized to the Great Northwestern Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Teams, presented by Barnes and Noble College.
The men's team placed five runners, while the women's team placed seven.
For the men, Garrett Hough (3.51, Environmental Sciences) and Zack Sundt (3.59, Exercise Science) earned their third straight selection.
Ty Savely (3.68, Sports Management) and Dylan Thompson (3.47, Music Performance) achieved their second selection. Kelvin Kipchirchir (3.92, Information Tech. & Admin. Mgt.) is a first-time honoree.
For the women, two athletes garnered their third Academic All-Conference selection, and five received their first.
Zoie Mastin (3.67, Exercise Science) and Meredith Massey (3.86, Art) garnered their third straight selection.
Tailer Cochran (3.77, Applied Mathematics), Kelli Heim (3.65, Geology), Rose Melville (3.79, Pre-Psychology), Alexa Neff (3.21, Exercise Science), and Madison Thompson (3.97, Hospitality, Tourism & Event Management) received their first selections.
To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic Teams, presented by Barnes & Noble College, nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 or greater, be a letterwinner on their team, and must be in their second year at the nominating institution.
