BILLINGS, Mont.- The Central Washington University volleyball team traveled to Billings to take on Montana State University Billings Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats take it the distance getting the win in the fifth set of the contest.
"This was a big road win for us at this point in the season," said Coach
Mario Andaya. "Each match is crucial and MSUB brought it today. We played hard the whole time and it led to a win. It was nice to see us sustain that competitive edge."
The Wildcats were led by Emma Daoud-Herbert and
Ashley Kaufman who both had 14 kills. Kaufman also led the team with five aces. Daoud-Herbert led the team with a .458 hit percentage.

Marianna Payne and
Kylie Thorne stood out both having 11 kills in the contest.

Sydney Remsberg (25) lead the 'Cats in assists.
The 'Cats took set one 25-19 powered by 10 kills, three blocks, and three aces. CWU had a .207 hitting percentage while the Yellowjackets had only a .032 hitting percentage.
MSUB took the second set 25-20. The Yellowjackets had six blocks which helped lead them to their first set win of the contest. The 'Cats had one ace in the set but a .111 hitting percentage and only one block led to MSUB taking it.
CWU fought back to take the third set 25-13. The 'Cats ran away with this set, having 15 kills, one ace, and six blocks.
With their backs against the wall, the Yellowjackets came back to take the fourth set by a score of 25-16. With CWU only needing one more set MSUB showed some fight, the 'Cats had 11 kills, one ace, and a .139 hitting percentage.
With it all on the line in the fifth and final set, the 'Cats started off hot with a 10-5 lead. The Yellowjackets fought back a little, but the Wildcats ultimately took the set 15-8. CWU had 12 of 15 points coming off kills with a whopping .625 hitting percent in the set.
The victory brings the 'Cats to 13-8 in conference and brings them back home where they're 4-2 on the year. The Wildcats sit in fourth place in GNAC standing with five games left to go in the regular season.
