SEATTLE, Wash. – The Central Washington University women's soccer traveled west to Seattle on Thursday night to take on the Seattle Pacific University Falcons, losing by a score of 1-3.
"This team has spirit. The game looked and felt like we were not going to give up," Head Coach
Lindsey Lee said. "It's that energy we look toward NNU."
The Falcons got it started early with a 24-yard looping boot from Lauren Snedeker 11 minutes into the contest. Toni Miranda had the assist leading to the Falcons first goal.
The Wildcats were able to make some remarkable saves but the Falcons were able to score their second goal with a 30-yard shot from Toni Miranda in the 32nd minute
The 'Cats had four shots and five saves in the first half, surrendering two goals to the Falcons. SPU had 12 shots, two goals, and one save going into the half.
The Wildcats get their first and only goal thre minutes into the 2
nd half when
Emily Darcy capitalized on scoring opportunity, finding the back of the net from 18 yards out. CWU cut the deficit in half at 1-2.
The Falcons add on another goal at the 61st minute when Sophie Beadle scored from 20 yards out, assisted by Kathryn Nyone to make it 3-1 for SPU.
CWU finished with one goal on 12 shots, with four on goal.
Jordan Bartlow led CWU in shots (5). The Wildcats get nine saves on 32 shots faced, surrendering three goals.
