Berryman Named NCBWA West Region Player of the Week

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – After a near-perfect performance on the final day of the regular season, Central Washington's Zach Berryman was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Player of the Week the organization announced Tuesday.
 
Last Friday in the season-finale doubleheader against Montana State Billings, Berryman was a perfect six-for-six in game one, and three-for-four in game two. Berryman finished the day with five runs and knocked in one more.
 
Berryman, a junior from Ephrata, Wash., has led the Wildcats in left field and the leadoff spot in the lineup all season. Berryman owns a .962 fielding percentage with just four errors all season.
 
As one of the strongest bats in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, Berryman finished the regular season with a conference-leading .379 average, 77 hits, and 110 total bases. Additionally, Berryman finished second in the GNAC for runs scored (46), second in on-base percentage (.460), fourth in doubles (14), and fifth in slugging percentage (.542).
 
With the season now over, Berryman and Central Washington will prepare for the fall.
