DENVER, Colo. - The Central Washington University women's soccer team lost 0-1 to MSU Denver earlier today in a close, defensive battle.
Â
The game's only goal came in the 53rd minute. MSU Denver crossed the ball into a mix of bodies on a free kick when it found the foot of Katy Coats who slotted it past
Kassandra Jaggard.
Â
The Wildcats took five shots on the day while the Roadrunners took 10 shots. Every CWU shot was on goal, while MSU Denver only had two shots on goal. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, none of the five shots on goal found the back of the net.
Â
Stacia Conely lead the 'Cats in shots with two, while
Jaxyn Farmen,
Peyton Vogel and
Teryn Mendez registered one each.
Â
Jaggard started for all 90 minutes in goal for CWU. The only other Wildcat to play the entire match was Vogel.
Â
After a two-game road trip in Colorado, the Wildcat's record is 1-2-1. They'll return home with four home matches in a row. The 'Cats will open GNAC play with a bout against Northwest Nazarene on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 3:00 p.m.
