MOSCOW, Idaho - In his third meet for the Wildcats, Johan Correa broke his third school record, this time in the men's mile run as the Central Washington University indoor track and field team participated in the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open this weekend.

ABOUT THE MEET
Correa, who now owns the school's 800-meter and mile records, logged a mile time of 4:16.95 in the Kibbie Dome on Friday. He's currently 4th in the GNAC in the mile event. Correa broke the record held by John Wojtech from 2014, which was set at 4:17.33.
 
The top finisher for the Wildcats was Braydon Maier, who placed 2nd with a score of 4,851 in the men's heptathlon with a score of 4851. He finished the heptathlon strong, winning the pole vault and 1000-meter run events to build a score that surpasses the NCAA Indoor Championships provisional score and placed him 2nd in the GNAC.
 
Drew Klein also competed in the men's heptathlon, finishing fourth (4,726 points) and breaking the heptathlon provisional score.
 
On the women's side, Erica Cabanos finished 3rd in the women's triple jump with a jump of 11.32 meters, good for 3rd in the GNAC. Elise Hopper ran the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 57.74 seconds, good for 4th at the meet and 1st in the GNAC.
 
Aiden Wise finished 4th in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.43 seconds. Angus Beaton placed 6th in the men's weight throw (14.78 meters).

The indoor season continues on as the Wildcats will head to Seattle, Wash. for the UW Invitational next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27 & 28.
