"Western Oregon was a challenging opponent and the better team today. I hope we can learn from today's game before a strong NNU team on Saturday."
FIRST HALF
- The Wolves rattled off a series of shots in the first 10 minutes, but Danika Galbraith earned a couple of saves as the Wildcats got into the game.
- In the 22nd minute, Cassidie Andrews picked up a loose deflection, dribbled it past the Wolves defense, and slotted it home to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
- The 'Cats had some momentum later in the half as Casey Park, Lily Newberry, and Emily Darcy recorded shots, none of which really tested the WOU goalkeeper.
SECOND HALF
- Rispler would score the first of her two goals for the Wolves in the 57th minute. Leeci Snyder, who took the corner kick, lofted the ball to the back of the box where Rispler put a head on it past Galbraith.
- Andrews and Darcy logged one shot each down the stretch of the second half, but neither were on goal.
- The game-winning goal for the Wolves would come on a corner kick in the 89th minute. Snyder took the kick again, but this time Rispler took it on a volley, driving it into the back of the net.
